First Things First – setting up an Etsy shop for my crochet creations

The very first thing I’m working on, after choosing the name of my new Etsy shop is product.

Etsy recommends having at least 10 items when you open your new shop. You can start with fewer items but I’d like to put my best foot forward in this venture so I’ll do the ten.

So, that means making items is priority one for me right now. I’ve already made a poncho and a couple of shawls in some fun spring colors. Now that I know that I need 10 things, I’m looking to make a few smaller (quicker to crochet) items so that I can get the shop open sooner.

Since I’ve learned that the only sales tax I have to worry about is for my own home state, and that Etsy has it’s own shipping calculator and label generator, I’m really excited to get my shop up and running.  Seriously, I’m dying to get going!

I found a couple patterns I like for those cute (and popular) Messy Bun hats so after I finish the shawl I’m working on, those will probably be next on the list.

In the meantime, I’m also setting up this blog and my crochet gift and business cards site.

So much to do.  So little time to crochet!
