Use The Good Yarn, You’re Worth It!

April 26, 2017 by Robin @ Imperial Crochet

Although I’m still working on my Etsy store projects, and making stuff to sell, I decided to take the time to get started on a little something-something for myself.  🙂

Yes, I broke into the good yarn. (The Kristin Omdahl KO yarn that I talked about yesterday.)  I’m going slow and frogging any mistakes as soon as they happen.  Or as soon as I notice them.

This yarn is much thinner than what I’ve been working with lately and I’m using a much smaller hook so it’s a bit more tedious for me but I love the way it feels in my hands and the way the finished part is already draping so nicely.

I’m one of those people who only recently decided NOT to save the good china for holidays and special occasions.  In fact,  I highly recommend that if you’re still doing that, or saving your good yarn for a special project you never seem to have time for…  STOP IT.

Grab that hank and get your hook into it.

Take it from me.  It feels good to use the Lenox tea cups on a Wednesday afternoon and it feels great to make a little something for yourself with some quality yarn every once in a while.

Go ahead and D.I.Y. for Y.O.U.  You’re totally worth it!

  1. Great post, and so true. I have tendencies to ‘save’ things for special occasions, but am learning that sometimes the kindest/best thing to do is treat yourself (i.e. what good are the nice things if we can’t enjoy them!). High fives on your new project – the yarn looks so gorgeous. 🙂

I saved things too and sometimes they never got used so now that I’m older I’m learning to treat everyday more like a special occasion. Thanks for stopping by Handmadehabit!

That really is some beautiful yarn. It looks like it feels amazing! I have a few projects in mind for myself – I should blow my yarn budget next month on some of the ‘good stuff’!! 😀

  4. Beautiful yarn and I like how your project is starting out. Great reminder for me to use my fancy teacups!
