Recently, I was entrusted with the job of pattern tester for Emme Claire Crochet.
She was looking for crocheters to try out a new pattern she designed for a Newborn Swirl Beanie.
I have to admit I was a bit nervous at first because I had never done this before but the test worked out perfectly and the little hat is totally adorable so I’m really glad I stepped up to the challenge.
Not only do I have a cute little hat to show for it but I learned a new stitch, I’d never encountered the Camel stitch before, and I made a new friend in the crochet community. Emma was a sweetheart to correspond with.
I can show you the hat now because it’s been published and posted for sale at Ravelry.
The pattern showed the cap in pink and white and it was really cute. I used what I had on hand so mine ended up being mint green and white. I’ve got to say, I love it in those colors too. I also used a larger crochet hook since I didn’t have the right weight yarn so my sizing is a little off. I will definitely be making more of these in the correct weight and size. In fact, I’m pretty sure that anyone who has a baby girl… anywhere near me… will be getting one of these as a gift. They’re easy to make and so darn cute!
The pattern includes step-by-step photos and tips that make it easy to understand and follow. You really can’t mess it up.
Here’s my finished beanie!
Don’t you just love it?
