How I Use A Luggage Tag To Promote My Crochet Shop On Social Media

I was looking for a quick and easy way to add my shop name to my photos for promotion on social media.  A simple luggage tag came to my rescue!

I recently needed to photograph a crochet item I’d made.  The photo needed to include one of my business cards.  I took the photo and although it served its purpose, the writing on my card was a little small and I was left wishing for another… better… option.

Of course I could have done a bit of editing and maybe add the words directly to the photo but I really was hoping for an even easier option than that.  You know, something super quick and super duper easy.

Zazzle had the answer!

As a Zazzle affiliate, and shopper, I receive their sale emails quite frequently and shortly after the business card incident, they just happened to run a sale on their luggage tags. I decided to grab one and experiment using it for promotional photos.

You might not be able to tell from this photo but their tags are very high quality.  They’re quite thick, not at all flimsy, and have a nice leather strap.  I found a design template at the site that I liked and I customized it to say the name of my shop and the word Handmade on the front.

On the flip side, I shared my shop name again and I also included the link information to my blog and my Etsy shop.  So now when I want to include my info in a photo of my crochet items, all I have to do is choose a side and drop my luggage tag in next to the item.

Here’s the flip side!

The links in this post are affiliate links.  That means if you make a purchase after clicking on a link in this post, I will receive a small royalty.  You will never pay a penny extra.

This is the luggage tag that I customized to use to promote my crochet shop:

There are literally thousands of luggage and bag tags to choose from at Zazzle. I have to say that I was really impressed with the quality and now that I know how nice they are, I’m going to be grabbing another one for my suitcase.
Here are more of the specifics:
  • Dimensions: 2″l x 3.5″w (standard business card size)
  • Made of ultra-durable acrylic
  • UV resistant and waterproof
  • Leather luggage strap included
  • Printed on both sides

This product is recommended for ages 13+

About the Crocheted Tiara

The pretty crocheted tiara in the pictures above is available at my
Etsy shop.  They’re handmade, by me, using premium yarn and pearl
Pony beads.  They’re comfortable and great for the bride-to-be to
wear at her Bridal Shower and/or Bachelorette party and can make any
girl feel like a real-live princess.

What a great idea! I’m spending time over summer ‘building’ some kind of business plan for my embroidery (let’s hope it doesn’t just stay in my head!), I love this idea!
