Simple Crochet Wrap for Cool Evenings

September 15, 2017 by Robin @ Imperial Crochet

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and with each passing day it seems to get harder and harder to jump back in and get back into the habit of blogging again so here goes…

Even though I haven’t been posting, I have been crocheting.

We recently attended a wedding in a cooler area than where I live now so I made myself a wrap to wear in the evening. It turned out really soft and cozy and it went okay with my gown.

I used almost 3 skeins of Caron Simply Soft Party yarn in silver. (Not sure of the exact name because I tossed the labels.)  The yarn is a beautiful gray color with a sliver of silver running through it. I created it using a simple half double crochet stitch throughout and made shells at the edges.

My pretty crochet wrap.

I already had the yarn which was a terrific money saver and I made it as long and wide as I had yarn for. I started and frogged several times until I had it right.

The size ended up being approximately 56″ x 13″.  If I had the time to block it, like I originally planned to do, it would have been a bit larger, lacier, and prettier. But since I am known to leave things until the last minute, I wore it hot-off-the-hook.  I’ll definitely block it before I wear it again.  And I do plan to wear it again one day because I love it.

As it turned out, it wore like an old-fashioned stole.

I’ve made a few more items recently but I’ll save those for another day.

Thanks for stopping by!
