Centaur Mandala Yarn by Lion Brand Review – a gorgeous color yarn for autumn

If you’re looking for the perfect yarn for an autumn crochet (or knit) project, take a look at the Centaur Mandala yarn by Lion Brand.  It is simply scrumptious!

Beautiful Centaur color Mandala yarn.

Beautiful Centaur color Mandala yarn.

As you can see it has all sorts of fall colors including gold, beige, tan, brown, rust, charcoal and navy blue. Having received four skeins, I did notice that not every skein had every color in it so if you are looking for a favorite, you might want to hit the brick and mortar store so you can choose your skeins in person.

I ordered mine online from Walmart.com and I have to say that it’s so much prettier in person than what I thought it was going to be.

The Mandala yarns are a 100% acrylic lightweight (3) variegated yarn that comes on skeins that contain 5.3 ounces and are 590 yards long.  And let me tell you that is LONG.  While crocheting, it almost seems like the skein goes on forever.

Notice the difference in colors on this skein compared to the one above.

As I said, I have four skeins and I’ve already completed one baby blanket and most of another one.  I already know I’ll have an extra skein on hand when I’m done.

I love using this yarn.  It glides on my hook.  There are some knots that I’ve found though.  The knots don’t come between every color change but they are there so you’ll need to keep a lookout for them if you’re like me and want to remove them.

The recommended crochet hook size is H-8 5mm and that’s what I used on the blanket above.  It could just be my tension but I thought the stitches were a bit loose and so when I started my never-ending granny square blanket I switched to a 4.5mm.

Both of these hand crocheted baby blankets will be available in the Imperial Crochet Etsy shop soon!

As I said above, Mandala yarn is sold at Walmart but if you’re more of an Amazon.com shopper, you can use this affiliate link to purchase your Mandala yarn at Amazon.

Have you used Mandala yarn in any of your crochet projects?  What do you think of the Centaur color?  Share your thoughts (or just say hello) in the comments.  I love hearing from my readers.
