If you’re looking for a new pattern to make GORGEOUS crocheted hats, be sure to check out this Bead Stitch Crochet Hat pattern that I found at the 5 Little Monsters blog.
I have to admit I almost overlooked this one because it calls for worsted weight yarn and I was looking for patterns that use the more popular (for hats… right now anyway) bulky yarn.
I already had the yarn that I used (I’m sorry. I’m not sure what brand it is.) and I had an extra faux fur pompom laying around so this stash buster cost me absolutely nothing to make.
I love the texture created by using the various stitches and it fits my head perfectly.

Not only will you find a written pattern but there’s also a link to a video tutorial too!
The pattern was well written and easy to follow. I have to admit that I messed up a little bit while crocheting the brim but I still love the way mine turned out and I vow to do a better job of it on the next one I make.
The faux fur pompom I used came from a set of 12 that I purchased at Amazon. They are really nice pompoms that snap on.

I have to admit that I’m really loving the faux fur pompoms that are popping up on hats everywhere this year.
How about you? Do you prefer faux fur poms or are you more of a traditional yarn pompom person? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments about this pressing issue, or anything else you’d like to talk about. I love hearing from my readers!
