I haven’t been doing much crocheting lately but someone I know is having a baby girl and so I’ve decided to start her blanket early.
I went to my local Michaels for the yarn and found a new one by Lion Brand Yarns called Feels Like Butta.

I’ll admit that at first I passed it up in search of a baby yarn that I’d used before but when I became frustrated at the availability of the colors I wanted in the brands I was looking at, I decided to go back and take another look at the Feels Like Butta yarn.
My Feels Like Butta Yarn Review
It’s hard to see in the photo but this yarn is like nothing I’ve ever used before. It’s super soft, just like the title implies. It seems to be made of interwoven strands and the end result feels similar (kind of) to Chenile but not exactly. The end result is a soft and light texture that I think is perfect for a baby blanket.
It crochets up very nicely. I’m using a G 6 4mm Clover crochet hook and it’s a total pleasure to work with.
The yarn is a 4 medium weight and there’s 590 yards on my skein of white which was a Bonus Bundle. Some skeins are about half that size. It’s 100% polyester, is machine washable and dryable.
I haven’t washed it yet to see how that goes, but all in all, so far, I’m really happy with my purchase. I’ll try to stop back with the finished baby blanket when I’m done.
If you’re interested, I’m making another Ruffles and Pink are for Girls blanket but with a color change from what the author has posted. Mine will be white, pastel pink and a brighter shade of pink.
The gorgeous orchid pictured above was a gift from my brother and sister-in-law for Easter. I’m really hoping that I don’t kill it.
